Boxing Training Camp
Ivan “Mighty” Robinson (Philadelphia, PA) is a boxer who grew up in the boxing gyms of Philadelphia, his father started training him in the art of boxing at the tender age of 5. Robinson has compiled a record of 36-10-2 (12KOs) winning both the USBA & MABS Lightweight titles after becoming a professional in 1992.
During his professional career, Robinson fought Heavyweight Champion, Oscar de la Hoya; went 12- rounds in a whirlwind bout with then Lightweight Champion, Phillip Holiday and his victory over Arturo Gatti was voted “Fight of the Year” by Ring Magazine. His last fight was at the Staple Center in LA where he held his own in a 10-round bout against legendary boxer, Julio César Chávez.
Robinson is excited about joining the LifeKnocks team; presently he is training young boxers (ages 6-17) at Camden Athletic Gym and other notable Philadelphia Boxing Gyms (Joe Hand’s Gym). He is passionate about enhancing children’s abilities and confidence through the power of the sport of boxing.
He understands the possible physical limitations that our LifeKnock’s kids may encounter and will work with each child individually to provide a specialized regiment of training that includes: discipline, positive thinking, education, camaraderie and self-pride.
Cost: $400 per child for a period of 10 weeks (3 days a week) Limit: 5 children per 10 week session.
Theater & Visual Arts Camps
Ballibay offers programs in theater, visual arts, music, dance, video, radio and painting. It is a sleep away camp for children ages 6-16. The camp’s mission is to promote the artistic and personal growth of children, whatever their backgrounds and goals. Every child will have the opportunity to process their work through individual expression. Cost: See separate page for tuition and enrollment by session and date. Approx. $1000 per week, per child for 4 weeks
Wilma Theater Performing Arts Camp
Wilma Theater offers as part of their Children’s Outreach Program, a summer camp in theater arts which teaches children both sides of the art form, behind the scenes production and performing on stage. At the end of the month long program, each child will participate in the production of their own making. In addition the Wilma Theater offers young adults acting lessons throughout the year.
Cost: $550 for a 4 week program during the month of August
Ritz Theater Company
Bruce Curless, Ritz Theater Executive Director and Founder, is willing to work with our lifeKnock’s children to design a specialized program of theater arts & music that is fun and family-oriented.
